Amica improves communication with suppliers thanks to Internet solutions
Amica Wronki, the biggest manufacturer of household equipment in Poland, started AVIS (Amica Vendor Information System) solution, which is going to improve communication between Amica and regular suppliers. Implementation of the solution of integrated SAP R/3 system for Amica was realized by IT department of Amica together with BCC.
Amica Wronki gives a great importance to building of IT solutions, which make possible to gain the upper hand over the competition. Amica has been using SAP solutions in a wide scope - finance and controlling, logistics and production planning, quality management, as well as human resources and payroll - for several years. One of the roles of IT department of Amica is a creation of conceptions for business-and-IT solutions, including also EDI projects such as AVIS.
Application of AVIS for communication with suppliers makes it possible to use work of purchasing department of Amica in a more efficient way, thanks to elimination of repeatable, routine inquiries from contractors. The solution contributes as well to reducing the number of mistakes and costs, connected with traditional methods of communication. On the other hand, AVIS assures the suppliers an access to key data regarding their cooperation with Amica 24 hours a day. Data generated by AVIS may be exported to Excel or XML format and processed in suppliers IT system.
Data presented in AVIS are available off-line, with use of SAP DB database. Data regarding suppliers are replicated from SAP R/3 of Amica to a medium database once a day, when the system is the least loaded. SAP Business Connector platform was adopted in communication between AVIS and SAP R/3 applications. Used technologies assure not only the effectiveness of exploitation of the whole solution, but also security of available data, thanks to use of secure connections.

Amica is manufacturer of free-standing gas cookers, gas-and-electric cookers, electric cookers, plates and cooking ovens for building in furniture segments, as well as cooling equipment: refrigerators, refrigerator-freezers, freezers, and finally washing machines. Dishwashers and air conditioners are also included in the sales offer.
